SLINGER, Wisc: After nearly a two-month hiatus, the ASA STARS National Tour roars back to life this week with a Wisconsin doubleheader, featuring races on back-to-back days at two of the state’s most iconic short tracks: Madison (Wisc.) International Speedway and Slinger (Wisc.) Super Speedway.
In May, the ASA STARS National Tour was slated for a Western North Carolina doubleheader, opening at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway with the Tar Heel 250 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch before shifting to Tri-County (N.C.) Speedway for the Carolina 250 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch.
Unfortunately, persistent rain throughout the week forced the postponement of the Tri-County event, but the unexpected schedule change ultimately worked in the team’s favor.
For Roderick and Rette Jones Racing, the extended break in the series schedule offered a chance to regroup following a frustrating 21st-place finish after adversity struck during the 250-lap event.
Despite the rocky start of the 2026 campaign, Roderick remains focused on the bigger picture. With just three races in the books, the upcoming Wisconsin swing provides an ideal opportunity to regain momentum and position the team for a strong run through the remainder of the season.
“We’ve had speed this year, but we just haven’t put together the finishes we know we’re capable of,” said Roderick. “The time off gave everyone a chance to reset, look at what we can improve and come back ready to go. It’s still early in the season, and we have every opportunity to get ourselves right back where we want to be.”
The week begins Sunday night with the Badger State 325 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch at the legendary Slinger Super Speedway, one of the country’s most demanding short tracks and a venue known for producing some of the most exciting racing of the season.
Two days later, the focus shifts west to Madison International Speedway for Tuesday night’s Capital 200 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch, where patience, execution and long-run speed often make the difference.
While the two Wisconsin venues each present their own unique challenges, the objective remains the same for the Rette Jones Racing team: unload with speed, qualify well and put themselves in position to contend when it matters most.
“Any time you have two opportunities in the same week, it’s a chance to build momentum,” Roderick added.
“The biggest thing is maximizing every lap, staying out of trouble and giving ourselves a shot at the front. I have a lot of confidence in this group, and hopefully Wisconsin is where everything starts coming together.”
With valuable championship points on the line before the calendar flips to July, a productive week in Wisconsin could provide the spark Roderick and Rette Jones Racing have been searching for as the ASA STARS National Tour season heads into its summer stretch.

Although Roderick has enjoyed success on a variety of short tracks throughout his career, both Slinger Super Speedway and Madison International Speedway demand a unique approach, requiring drivers to quickly adapt to changing track conditions while balancing aggression with patience over the course of each event.
For crew chief Mark Rette and the Rette Jones Racing organization, the focus during the extended break has been on refining the details and ensuring the No. 30 machine arrives in Wisconsin prepared to capitalize on every opportunity.
“I’ve got a tremendous amount of confidence in Casey, especially during weeks like this where you have to adapt quickly and stay mentally locked in from the moment you unload,” said Rette.
“Having two races in a three-day span can really expose teams and drivers because there’s not much time to regroup, but Casey has always done a great job giving feedback, understanding what the race car needs and maximizing every opportunity.
“The results haven’t reflected the amount of work this group has put in, but nobody has hung their heads. We’ve used the break to go through everything, fine-tune the areas we felt needed attention and make sure we’re as prepared as possible.
“We feel like we’re getting closer every time we hit the racetrack, and hopefully these next two races give us an opportunity to show exactly what this team is capable of.
“Despite the challenges through the opening stretch of the season, Rette remains encouraged by the attitude and commitment displayed throughout the organization, believing the work being done behind the scenes is laying the foundation for future success.
“The attitude of this group has never changed, even through the challenges that come with racing at this level,” Rette added.
“Everybody believes in what we’re building, and that kind of chemistry and commitment is hard to find. I really think it’s only a matter of time before the consistent results start reflecting the work this team is putting in every single week.”
