 Notes of Interest:

Inaugural Season: The inaugural NASCAR Euro Series season for Rette Jones Racing continues this weekend at the ultra-popular Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in England.

Following a mixed showing at the most recent event at Autodromo di Vallelunga in Italy, the team is aiming to rebound with strong performances in both the PRO and OPEN divisions across four scheduled races on the short yet challenging 1.2-mile circuit.

Armed with valuable experience and key adjustments from their European debut, RJR returns to the tight and technical layout with renewed focus and determination.

With driver development and competitiveness as central priorities, the team is committed to showcasing speed, consistency, and continued progress as it builds its international racing footprint. Both drivers are eager to capitalize on their initial experience and aim to deliver strong results on the fast-paced Brands Hatch Indy layout.

The team is focused and eager to deliver stellar results, much like their strong showing in the 2025 Euro Series opener at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in April.

Linster Sidelined: Rette Jones Racing’s OPEN Division driver Gil Linster will miss this weekend’s NASCAR Whelen Euro Series event at Brands Hatch due to illness.

Dutch racing legend and former Formula 1 competitor Michael Bleekemolen will step in as a substitute, taking the wheel of the No. 30 Ford Mustang on the Indy Circuit.

Autodromo di Vallelunga Race Recap: In what was expected to be a strong weekend in the OPEN division, Rette Jones Racing driver Gil Linster battled unexpected health issues that sidelined him for much of the event.

Despite being seriously ill during the second race, Linster showed impressive resilience and pace. After being spun early and rejoining the field from the back, he charged through the pack in his No. 30 Rette Jones Racing Euro Ford Mustang and climbed as high as seventh place.

Unfortunately, his condition worsened, forcing him to retire from the race before the checkered flag.

After suffering a mechanical issue in race one, Rette Jones Racing PRO division driver Loris Hezemans roared back in race two with an impressive drive to a second-place podium finish at Autodromo di Vallelunga.

His performance in the second race didn’t just earn him valuable championship points — it also turned heads, as Hezemans clocked the fastest lap of the race during the American Festival of Rome 2025, underscoring his speed and determination despite early weekend adversity.

Meet the Drivers: Hezemans, a native of Amsterdam, Netherlands, brings a strong résumé to the program as the 2022 EuroNASCAR 2 champion and a 10-time race winner in the series.

He is also the younger brother of Loris Hezemans, a two-time EuroNASCAR champion and former competitor in the NASCAR national series.

Michael Bleekemolen is a Dutch racing driver who has previously competed in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, driving for the family-owned Team Bleekemolen in the No. 72 Ford Mustang.

The Amsterdam, Netherlands native is considered a “Legend” driver this weekend in England and is a former Formula 1 driver.

Get to Know Brands Hatch Indy Circuit: Brands Hatch sets the stage for the third round of the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series championship: the ever-popular American SpeedFest. The festival is one of the most awaited events on the calendar for drivers, teams, and fans alike.

Tens of thousands of fans will pack the 1.938-kilometer (1.2-mile) Indy Circuit for four thrilling NASCAR sprint races and an ever-growing American-themed festival that celebrates racing culture, classic cars, and family-friendly entertainment.

The twelfth edition of the American SpeedFest promises to bring an even bigger and better spectacle to Brands Hatch, featuring an expanded fan zone, live music, food trucks, and interactive experiences that immerse attendees in the full NASCAR experience.

A true staple of British motorsport, the Brands Hatch Indy layout is renowned for its short, high-intensity configuration packed with elevation changes and fast corners.

From the sweeping Paddock Hill Bend to the tight Druids hairpin and the quick dash back to the front stretch, the circuit demands rhythm, precision and bravery from the drivers.

Its compact layout means fans can see nearly the entire track from many vantage points, making it one of the most spectator-friendly circuits on the calendar.

For the NASCAR Euro Series, the tight confines and constant traffic guarantee close-quarters racing and plenty of action, ideally suited for the bumper-to-bumper style the series is known for.

Liam Hezemans Quoteboard:

On Brands Hatch Indy Circuit: “Brands Hatch is always a highlight on the calendar. The Indy Circuit may be short, but it’s fast, technical, and leaves no room for mistakes.

Every lap is intense, and with the fans packed around the track for American SpeedFest, the atmosphere is just electric. I’m excited to get back out there and push for strong results with the Rette Jones Racing Euro team.”

On Autodromo di Vallelunga Performance: “Vallelunga was a weekend of highs and lows. Race one was frustrating with the mechanical issue—we had the pace, but things just didn’t go our way.

“Coming back in race two and finishing second was a big boost. It showed the strength of this Rette Jones Racing Euro team and what we’re capable of under pressure. We didn’t give up, and I’m proud of how we bounced back.”

On Bouncing Back: “This weekend is all about execution. We need to be smart, stay clean and make the most of every opportunity on track. After the setback at Vallelunga, every point matters if we want to stay in the hunt for the championship.

“I know we have the speed—now it’s about putting together a complete weekend and keeping ourselves in the fight.”

On Rette Jones Racing Partnership: “I’m really excited to join Rette Jones Racing for the 2025 season. Having the opportunity to represent an American team in the NASCAR Euro Series is a big step for me, and I’m proud to be part of this new chapter.”

On Goals for the 2025 NASCAR Euro Series Season: “Heading into 2025, the goal is to take everything we’ve learned over the past seasons and turn it into consistent results. I want to be fighting at the front every weekend and ultimately challenge for the championship.

With the experience I’ve gained and the support of Rette Jones Racing and Hendriks Motorsport, I feel more prepared than ever.

It’s all about staying focused, maximizing every race, and putting ourselves in a position to win.”
